A long time ago I photographed an X-ray of a mummy inside an Egyptian tomb displayed in the Louvre.

I adore the concepts of peeking through the exterior, to find whole persons, or beings, or moments, sometimes untouched, inside of us. Sometimes embryonic, and in preparation; other times the opposite - archaeological - a version of ourselves, frozen in time, and trapped.

There is a smaller piece, Upon Further Investigation, that served as my blueprint for the larger piece. I projected the smaller image onto as she holds these concepts with warmth and reassurance and wisdom. I ached with pleasure making this palette hum
